I would much rather be making products or studying recipes, herbs, oils and butters or testing new recipes. I hope you will read my blog on a regular basis as I will be providing information about the uses of a variety of herbs. I will also be sharing my learning with you as I continue my journey. I have been busy canning and dehydrating foods and herbs, which are very satisfying activities for me. I am currently working on infusing oils with rosemary and started a new rosemary tincture using raw apple cider vinegar. I have always infused my tinctures using vodka so am eager to see if I like this method better. Please let me know if you are interested in my results.
I have always loved rosemary; I enjoy the scent when brushing by the plants and it such a versatile herb. Most of us know of the culinary uses of rosemary but did you know that it also been shown to support the cognitive functions of memory and stress? “Consuming and inhaling the compounds in rosemary have been shown to help with stress factors (mountsinai.org). Rosemary has been used for many years to aid in indigestion, topically to reduce muscle and joint pain, to stimulate hair growth, neutralizes food-borne pathogens and there are studies that suggest rosemary may inhibit some tumor growth. I am planning to try my rosemary infused oils and tincture for some of these uses to see how it affects me.
